Breitling History
The watchmaking master that is Leon Breitling launched his name to the world with the first ever Breitling atelier in Switzerland. Over the years, the pioneer established creations ahead of his time including the first ever Vitesse pocket watch which featured his tachymeter. This began the first ever Swiss speeding watch that allowed police to issue speeding tickets.
In 1915, Leons son altered the chronograph as we know it today by adding a pusher at 2 o’clock separated to stop, start and reset the chronograph functions. It was then L. Breitling’s grandson, Willy who designed the chronograph to have another pusher at 4 o’clock to reset the stopwatch and allow the wearer to time successive events.
Since Willy Breitling over the family business in 1932, the brand has saw nothing but genuine innovation, passion, and success.
