Facing the established world of timepieces head on, Chanel became a icon of elegance, craftmanship, and style in the 1980’s. Since entering the industry, Chanel has continued to embrace femininity, innovation, and to produce true luxurious masterpieces to the world.
Our guide to Chanel watches explores the history of the House of Chanel and the making of the popular watches while discussing the different collections and how they came to be.

The House of Chanel
The French luxury brand, Chanel, has been a Paris treasure 1910. Founded by the legend, Coco Chanel, the brand began as a simple hat boutique under the name Chanel Modes. Gaining popularity with actresses and celebrities of Paris, the boutique quickly became a household name.
Coco moved into fashion, revolutionising the women saw their bodies and becoming an ambassador for body positivity through femininity. From there, Chanel boutiques were opend all across France and soon, all over the world.
In 1987, the luxury brand entered the world of watch making. Starting with their first release of the Premiere Collection. This became a whirlwind of success for the French brand as the dial was inspired by the iconic N°5 perfume bottle cap.
Today, Chanel has ventured in both women's and men's watches offering unmatched style and elegance to a rather stoic industry. And remain one of the most successful produces of watches for women.

The Collections
The launch of the Chanel Premiere Edition Originale Ladies Watch was groundbreaking for the market and for the House of Chanel. This lady's watch features a steel coated with yellow gold case and a modern black face. However, it was strap that made it so popular. An intertwining of steel and leather, the strap was inspired by the legendary Chanel handbags.
Perfect for elevating your everyday look!
In 1995, Chanel watches sought to transform the world of lady's watches. The Matelassé was the second launch and with a simple black square face incorporated into the simplicity of the bracelet, it became an instant favourite. This then went on to produce the J12 collection in the 2000’s and was the brands first haute horlogerie timepiece.
The most recent release from the brand is their Boy-friend collection. A more simplistic line compared to the others but no less beautiful. Remaining on theme, these square-faced timepieces feature a rose gold, steel, or diamond encrusted case. Complete with a slim, lack or tweed strap.
Diversity & Style
Being one of the biggest luxury lifestyle and fashion brands in the world, Chanel took the measures to make sure their timepieces would be no different. Crafted in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, each watch is made using expert software and then transformed into the timekeeping masterpieces we see today.
In recent years, Chanel has worked to produce a line of sophisticated men's watches. As the brand has done since entering the market, you always get delicate femininity with avant-garde design approaches that make new ground for women's fashion. The collections that have come out of the brand's relatively short history are what many watchmakers aspire to.
