Zenith Chronomaster Ladies Watch
- 27 Oct 2021
We have seen some really exciting creations from Zenith over the last year, highlighted by the new Chronomaster Sport that was released earlier this year. Following that we had the Chronomaster Original gents range which, again, was an outstanding release with a lot of heritage. The latest to the market is the new Chronomaster Original for women which has all the elements of the earlier Chronomaster Original, but with a few twists.
Let's take a closer look at the detail on this watch. The dial is a lovely silver-tone with velvet finish, and is adorned with three chronograph counters in various shades of taupe, which really stand out against the silver of the dial. The blue variation of this watch that is equally as beautiful with the same silver velvet dial, but shades of blue in the detailing. Another aspect of the blue variation is that the dial and sub-dials are crafted from mother of pearl, a dreamy material that gives this watch a super unique finish. Going back to the taupe version of this Zenith Chronomaster Original, the hands are rhodium-plated, faceted and coated with Super-LumiNova for extra legibility in the dark, perfect for the winter nights coming up.
With this watch being a chronograph, it of course performs all the relevant functions. The central hands tell the hours and minutes on the large dial. The dial in the nine o'clock position is the 1/10th of a second counter that one turn in 10 seconds. The dial at the six o'clock position is a 60 minute counter and at three o'clock is the 60 second counter.
The case on this Zenith Chronomaster Original watch comes in at 38mm, which is on the larger side of ladies watches as the average is typically around 26-29mm, but it wears really well and doesn't feel overly big when on the wrist. The little details on this watch is what really makes it pop though. The diamond gem setting in the case comes in at a total carat weight of 0.22cts and there is also nine applied diamonds on the watch face at the hour markers giving a little extra touch of sparkle to this piece. Even with this extra detailing, the watch doesn't wear any bigger on the wrist due to the setting of the diamonds, so you still have a sleek feel from this piece.
Moving on to the movement in this watch, the El Primero 3600 Automatic movement that can be seen through the beautiful exhibition case back. Beating at 36,000 VPH this watch has an approximate 60-hour power reserve and is water resistant up to 50 metres, which is more than you'll ever need with this watch!
Overall we are impressed with this watch, it has the power and high specifications behind what is a really lovely, well-designed timepiece. The design is so uniquely Zenith with the tri-colour dials and doesn't stray too far away from the previous Zenith Chronomaster Original release, which is really nice to see.
