Today, we are very excited to bring to you an up close review of an extremely rare model by Vacheron Constantine“ the Overseas Dual Time 7900V/110A-B546.
At first glance the dial is striking to say the least; a black sunburst satin-finish is a great addition to the classic silver and blue dials offered. This dial in particular, encased in a steel case, seems to exude elegance and is sure to catch the eye of all luxury watch lovers from around the globe. A contrasting display sports luminescent 18ct gold facetted hour-markers and hands, hands that feature a striking red also. Double minutes and seconds scale, placed around the rim, ensures this is a high-precision instrument. The case comes in at a comfortable 41mm, emblematic of the collection with its hexagonal bezel, the crown, and the date push-piece is secured to ensure that the watch is water-resistant to a staggering 150 meters.
This Overseas Dual Time model is equipped with the 5110 DT automatic manufacture movement, which quite frankly here at Chisholm Hunter we believe to be fantastic. Beating at the heart of the watch, this distinctive movement feature lies in the simultaneous reading of two time zones. In addition to the traditional central hand-type time indications for local time, a fourth hand tipped with a red arrow displays the home' time, coupled with a day/night indicator. The two 12-hour zones are adjustable via the crown in both directions. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz”28,800 vph”, this 234-component 5110 DT calibre has an unbelievable 60-hour power reserve thanks to its two barrels wound by a 22K gold oscillating weight adorned with a wind rose and visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
