Brand In Focus: Fabergé
- 25 Mar 2024
Fabergé is one of the world's most exclusive luxury jewellery brands, most recognised for their legendary series of lavish imperial Eggs that have become the iconic symbol of the brand. Founded in 1842, the Fabergé has been inspired by their past and continues to create eternally original pieces.
Fabergé: A Breif History
Originating in Russia, founder Peter Carl Fabergé inherited his father's small jewellery shop in 1882, transforming the small business into the globally known brand it is today.
Fabergé got their beginnings becoming the goldsmith to the Russian Imperial Court crafting exquisite jewels and objects. This is where the intricately detailed, lavish imperial eggs were first created as an Objets de Fantasie (object of fantasy). Other items created by the House of Fabergé were sceptres, door knockers, extravagant walking sticks, photo frames and of course jewellery, which has since evolved into the iconic egg jewellery pieces available today.
Fabergé jewellery grew with the Fabergé winning international awards in jewellery design and becoming the largest jewellery company in Russia, employing over 500 craftsmen and designers. This expansion and onboarding of staff called for the relocation of the House of Fabergé to a purpose-built, four-story headquarters in Bolshaia Morskaia where they remain to this day. Fabergé branches have since opened in multiple locations, such as Moscow, Kiev and London.
