Retail Sales Merchandiser

Job Description

The Merchandiser is responsible for proactively driving product/ranges selection, marketing and pricing strategies for all stock in stores and on Web Store whilst ensuring operational excellence, training and developing the team, identifying and maximising sales opportunities through sales analysis, strong leadership and strategic planning to deliver ‘A Cut Above’ standard within best practice to maximise sales.

You will be target driven, with excellent analytical and organisational skills; adapt easily to change and thrive in a fast paced sales environment. Ensuring that products appear in the right stores and on website within the appropriate time and correct quantities.You will be responsible for managing delivery and distribution of stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales/ Stock
  • Develop, implement and deliver Buying strategies, with approval of the Board, to ensure the Company meets and exceeds its sales targets
  • Analyse merchandising reports and sales/ stock statistics to ensure appropriate action is taken;
  • Forecast sales, predict future sales trends and plan budgets to ensure all products are maximised to maximise sales;
  • Analyse every aspect of best sellers (for example; price point, colour and style) and ensure best sellers reach their full potential;
  • Produce space plans and store layout to maximise profitability of each store;
  • Qualifications/Education/Experience:

    • Experience with a proven track record within a buying or merchandising target driven role within a fast paced retail environment - the luxury jewellery and prestigious watch environment is advantageous.
    • Preferably - Jet 2 qualified (or willing to work towards this) with a desire for continuous professional training
    • Highly analytical and numerate with strong commercial acumen
    • Ability to interpret and utilise sales Management information and market trend data.
    • Excellent communication, written/verbal and negotiating skills.
    • Decision making, problem solving and assertiveness
