BRAND PARTNER GUCCI HITS A CHARITABLE NOTE
Posted April 18, 2013
Award-winning singer Emeli Sandé has been signed up to promote the new 'Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry UK Music Fund'.
The Fund aims to discover and promote talented young musicians around the world and will support The World Heart Beat Music Academy in London, which opens doors for young people of all ages and backgrounds who might not have access to musical training.
Commenting on the new opportunities offered by the 'Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Alliance', Sahana Gero, Founder and Artistic Director at The World Heart Beat Music Academy, said: "I am thrilled that Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry have chosen to support the World Heart Beat Music Academy in their first UK Music Fund. We believe that music is the heartbeat of humanity and has the power to transform the lives of young people."

Emeli, who recently won Best British Female and Best British Artist of the year at the 2013 Brit Awards, added: "It's crucial that young people today have the chance to express themselves through music and are given opportunities to do so. Projects like this make music available to everyone; disadvantaged youths in particular will be able to tell their story and get their voices heard. These are issues that are close to my heart, so I'm really proud to be part of it."
To support the Music Fund programmes, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry is launching a special new-edition Gucci Interlocking timepiece in stainless steel, with a steel bracelet and black dial. Available in a small 29mm size, the watch, for men and for women, bears the iconic interlocking 'GG' logo around the bezel, representing the initials of the House founder, Guccio Gucci. This timepiece is characterised by its bold, simple style: the dial takes centre stage and has a striking circular-grained surface which recalls the grooves on a vinyl record. The engraving, 'Gucci Music Fund', can be seen on the back.

BURNS SUPPER RAISES £20,000 FOR CHARITY
Posted February 05, 2013
Chisholm Hunter was delighted to be lead sponsor of the recent Scottish Spina Bifida Association Burns Supper in Glasgow.
The Burns Supper, which has been running for over 21 years, was attended by Scotland's top construction, property and law firms and raised over £20,000 for the charity.
The night featured traditional entertainment including the Address to the Haggis and readings from Robert Burns' most famous works, along with music from The Scots Pipers.
One of the undoubted highlights of the evening was the charity raffle with the star prize being a stunning Chisholm Hunter diamond pendant.
Tracey Brown, Director of Chisholm Hunter, which operates 19 stores across Scotland and England under the Chisholm Hunter Group, said: "It was a wonderful evening and it was great to be able to lend our support to such a worthy charity, which makes a huge difference to the lives of Scottish children, young adults and families who are affected by spina bifida.
"I would like to thank all the guests who had such lovely comments to make about the pendant and the Chisholm Hunter goodie bags."
The majority of those born with spina bifida will be paralysed from the waist down and will be life-long wheel chair users. Additionally, 80% of those born with the disability also have hydrocephalus that causes additional neurological problems.
Deborah Roe, Director of Fundraising for the SSBA explained why this fundraising event is so important. She said: "For the Charity's life-long commitment of care and support the SSBA has to raise over £1 million annually. Sadly, the Charity receives less than 1% of its funding from the government, which means we have to raise nearly all our funds from public donations and events like this."
She continued, "I would like to take this opportunity to thank diamond merchants, Chisholm Hunter who sponsored the event, our speakers, former track star George McNeill, Sheriff Lindsay Wood and Kevin Brown, singer Nicola Cassells, The Scot Pipers, toast master Philip Henderson and of course all of those who gave so generously on the night."
